The Master's Degree in Organizational and Occupational Health Psychology arose from the need to train professionals with expertise in the areas of Organizational and Occupational Health Psychology at a higher level. The Portuguese market has a significant shortage of Psychology professionals with specific training in this area. This need becomes even more evident given the increasing number of work-related mental health problems in recent years, such as stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, suicide and bullying (among others).
This Master's degree aims to train psychologists by facilitating the development of specific skills to intervene in the areas of occupational health and safety, accident prevention and the construction of healthy workplaces, as recommended by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. It should be noted that training in Portugal is very scarce, creating a significant training gap in this area. It is therefore considered necessary to train specialists capable of contributing to reducing the negative impact of current changes and responding effectively to current and future challenges in Occupational Health and Safety.
The 2nd year of the study cycle lasts two semesters (60 ECTS) and is intended for the preparation and presentation of an original dissertation and the completion of a curricular internship. Students have the opportunity to carry out an academic internship in various institutions and companies.
