Renato Gomes Carvalho holds a PhD in Psychology (2012; Specialization in Psychological Assessment) from the University of Lisbon, a Master's in Education from the Open University (2007) and a Degree in Psychology (clinical, cognitive-behavioral, cognitive and systemic) from the University of Lisbon ( 2004). He has worked as a trainer, consultant and university lecturer (University of Madeira between 2007-2017 and 2020-, Open University between 2008-2014 and University of Lisbon-2018). He is a member of the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology of Madeira (2005-) and President of the Regional Directorate of Madeira of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists (2016-). He was a researcher at the Center for Research in Psychological Science at the University of Lisbon and a founding member of the Ibero-American Association for Psychological Diagnosis and Assessment. Within the scope of his professional and research activity, he has been dedicated to career interventions and the areas of psychological assessment, within the scope of the study of the relationship between personality organization and adaptability in the life cycle . In 2018, he received the Prize for Good Practices in Orienteering, from Euroguidance Portugal. He is (co)author of intervention programs and of several articles in international scientific publications, where he is also a reviewer, and which include Personality and Individual Differences, School Psychology International, Spanish Journal of Psychology, Time and Society and the Revista Iberoamericana de Diagnostico y Evaluación Psicológica. He is an OPP Specialist Psychologist in Clinical and Health Psychology, in Educational Psychology, and in Vocational and Career Development Psychology.
