Full Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Sciences of Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) where he has taught Bachelor's, Master's and Executive Training courses (2014-present). He was Scientific Coordinator of the Master's in Business Administration (2019-21).

Guest Professor at Técnico+, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (2016-present).

Director of CICEE – Center for Research in Economic and Business Sciences, UAL, where he carries out research activities (2019-present), having carried out applied research at CEEI – Center for Economic and Institutional Studies, UAL (2014-15).

Editor-in-Chief of ERBE – European Review in Business Economics (2021-present).

Previously: he taught Bachelor’s, MBA, Master’s and Executive Training courses as a Guest Professor: (i) at Católica Porto Business School, Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics, Centro Regional das Beiras, Polo de Viseu, Department of Sound and Image of the School of Arts, and Higher Institute of Biotechnology, of the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) (1990-2015; in 2004-2012 as Assistant Professor); (ii) at DEGEI – Department of Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering of the University of Aveiro (2001-2005); (iii) at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (2005-2010); and at the Pontifical Catholic University of S. Paulo, Brazil (2010-2012).

He carried out research activities at CEGE – Center for Research in Management and Economics, UCP (2004-11); and at CEGEA – Center for Studies in Management and Applied Economics, UCP (1995-2007).
