Maria Helena da Cruz Coelho is a retired Full Professor at FLUC.

He has published around three hundred studies in different languages and his research focuses on various themes from the medieval period, such as historiography, political, religious, institutional, economic and social history, local power, biography, rural history. , the history of food and the history of everyday life.

He received eight awards from the APH and the Science Award from the FCG (1990). She was distinguished by the President of the Republic with the Degree of Grand Officer of the Order of Infante D. Henrique (2011)
