He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of History, Arts and Humanities (DHAH) at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL). In 2022, he joined the team of the CIDEHUS unit at the UAL (CIDEHUS.UAL). He holds a PhD in History from Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France) and has been engaged in research in the fields of social and urban history, as well as the history of tourism in the 19th and 20th centuries. He has taught at various academic institutions, at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels, with a primary focus on the social and cultural history of the modern and contemporary eras. He was a visiting researcher at the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (Hélio and Amélia Pedroso Luso-American Foundation Endowed Chair in Portuguese Studies, 2015) and a visiting professor at the Center for Research and Documentation of Contemporary History of Brazil (CPDOC) at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (2013). He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Ler História.
