Fernando Jorge Ribeiro Correia is a University Professor at the Department of Engineering and Computer Science, as well as a researcher at INESC-ID and the Naval Research Center, in Lisbon, Portugal. He completed his bachelor's degree in 1991, his master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2000 and his PhD in Informatics and Computer Engineering in 2010, both from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon.
Between 2009 and 2016 he was a lecturer at the Portuguese Navy Naval School and coordinator of the Naval Engineers' study cycle in the Weapons and Electronics branch. During this period, he was also a lecturer and coordinator of the Master's degree in Information Security and Law in Cyberspace, a master's degree carried out in partnership with the Instituto Superior Técnico and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Between 2010 and 2014 he was a visiting professor at the NOVA School of Information Management and Statistics, of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Between 2016 and 2019 he was part of the International Military Staff, at NATO Head Quarters Command, Control and Consultation (NHQC3S) Information Services Branch (ISB), performing the functions of Data Link Support Staff (DLSS) and vice-chair of the Tactical Data Link Capability Team, where he was responsible for the development and management of NATO procedural interoperability standards, oriented to the command, control and information systems of NATO tactical forces and headquarters.
He is the author of several papers presented at conferences and in journals related to routing protocols in mobile AdHoc networks, and a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.
