He has a degree in International Relations from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, a postgraduate degree in Sociology of Work and Organizations from ISCSP and a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at UAL. In 2005, he attended the WAN-IFRA Newsplex course at the University of South Carolina, USA.

Specialist with recognized experience and professional competence in the area of Information and Journalism, under the terms of DL nº. 206/2009 of 31 August, by the Scientific Council of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa.

He began his career at RTP in 1987 and was then one of the founders of SIC in 1992. He was editor, producer, director, journalist, production and director coordinator and finally general coordinator of SIC Notícias. At the same time, he was a trainer at CENJOR, at ETIC and at RNA – Rádio Nacional de Angola and a professor at UAL and at the European University (IADE).

He worked as a consultant for the administration of TPA - Televisão Pública de Angola. He was also Director of Programs and Information in two Portuguese television channels.
