Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Lisbon, integrated researcher at JusGov and the Ratio Legis, he is also a lawyer and arbitrator (integrating several lists of arbitrators, national and international).

He holds a PhD in Law – specializing in Procedural Law – from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Nova School of Law), has a postgraduate degree in arbitration from the said University and has a degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.

He has several publications in his areas of expertise (books and scientific articles), is Director of the International Journal of Arbitration and Conciliation and regularly participates as a lecturer, speaker and moderator in conferences, courses and postgraduate courses on topics of civil procedure, arbitration and resolution alternative litigation, in Portugal and abroad.

He is a member of the Portuguese Institute of Civil Procedure (IPPC), the Portuguese Arbitration Association (APA) and the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr). He has been distinguished by several entities: Leaders League (2021 Portugal Best Arbitrators), Who's Who Legal (Arbitration 2021 and 2022, Future Leaders) and Legal 500 (Private Practice Arbitration Powerlist, Iberia Region, 2023).
