Several recent studies have found an increase in anxiety symptoms in the Portuguese population. According to the results of the 2024 Survey on Living Conditions and Income (ICOR), 34.31% of the Portuguese population aged 16 or over reported symptoms of generalized anxiety. Focusing on higher education, there has been a decline in students' mental health, with studies from 2023 revealing an incidence of 75.61% of anxiety symptoms in students. Mental health in higher education is essential for the development of a new generation with emotional intelligence. This promotion will also affect integration into the job market, which has become increasingly demanding and challenging on several levels, as well as resilience to deal with the increasingly recurrent adversities of today.
