The Legal Regime of Higher Education Institutions (RJIES) reinforced the link between teaching and research in the academic environment. In order to respond to the challenges and opportunities arising from teaching applied to research, Higher Education Institutions have promoted support services, with a specialized response capacity in the area of research.
For this purpose, there are several professionals in science and technology management who develop their work in Universities, Research Units and Laboratories.
This communication aims to: 1) contextualize the emergence of this profession; 2) describe the functions of a science manager; 3) present practical examples of Science management to Higher Education students.
