Sociocultural mediators are increasingly a problem, in terms of their experience and training, in the field of Community Psychology and Intervention. Dr. Foladi acts as a sociocultural mediator for refugees from Ukraine in Portugal, more specifically in the Family Intervention Unit and Community Intervention Division of the Municipality of Cascais, Lisbon, Portugal. Actual techniques and practices will be presented on intervention from the arrival of refugee families and individuals to their complete (desired) inclusion. Also, different approaches will be mentioned given the different ethnic characteristics of the refugee population given the fact that Dr. Foladi does not only intervene in groups originating in Ukraine, but in Syria and Afghanistan. “Trauma-sensitive” spaces – a concept to explore as well.
