Fundamental concepts related to addictive behaviors and dependencies will be explored, covering both substance- and non-substance-related behaviors. Individual, environmental, and substance- or behavior-related factors that influence the development of these addictions will be discussed, as well as the crucial role of psychologists in welcoming, assessing, and intervening in this complex area of intervention.
