The complex relationship between economics and politics has been the object of reflection, over the years, by countless thinkers. From the outset Adam Smith considered political economy to be "a branch of the science of a statesman or lawgiver". In fact, politics, understood as decision-making by governments, including the entire process underlying it, contributes greatly to the evolution of the economic context in which the creation, maintenance and development of new businesses is equated. The political-economic context provides the environment in which businesses flourish or die, in which businesses succeed or fail. Within the scope of the activities of the AUTÓNOMA Incubator, the State Councilor, Luís Marques Mendes, will carry out a reflection on the influence of the current political context on the economy, thus contributing to the training of our students and future entrepreneurs.
