The financing needs of States have been imposing an increasingly significant tax burden on individuals and organizations. In this context, taxation significantly affects the life of organisations, namely business organisations. The managers of these organizations, within the scope of their decisions, within the legally established limits, seek to maximize the generation of value, minimizing the tax burden. In this open class, the aim is to get in touch with the business reality, through the sharing of experience and knowledge of the tax officer of one of the largest Portuguese companies. Likewise, making known the path of a professional trained in the area of economic sciences will help to help students with an interest in this area of knowledge to define their own professional goals.
