OPEN CLASS | FROM THE NATION'S DESTINATIONS TO THE EXHIBITION OF SELF: HOTELS AS A RESOURCE

20 May 2025 - 18:00

Room 409

This open class proposes a reflection on the role of Pousadas de Portugal as a cultural, symbolic and tourist resource. From a critical perspective, we will address the ways in which these infrastructures, initially conceived as destinations representing national identity, have also become spaces for individual appreciation and display of lifestyles. Between memory, heritage and social performance, this session invites us to analyze pousadas as places where public policies, tourism and contemporary practices of self-construction intersect.
