10 Dec 2024 - 14:30

Room 38

UW 105 is a fossil cave located in the Cradle of Humankind, South Africa. A research project on the hominin remains from this site has recently been initiated under the direction of Prof. Lee Berger. The fossil assemblage, housed at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, was collected through ongoing field research and preparation. The aim of this talk is to present preliminary results on the phylogenetic inference and functional morphology of these hominin remains based on the study of partially preserved long limb bones.
