The Research Center for Media Practices and Skills (NIP-C@M) of the Department of Communication Sciences of the Autonomous University of Lisbon publishes, with the seal of Livros Horizonte, the work 'Specialty Journalism', coordinated by Jaime Lourenço.
The launch session is scheduled for October 2nd at Casa da Imprensa at 6 pm.
This work – divided into two volumes – is the first published in Portugal that is dedicated to reflecting on journalistic specializations, as well as contributing, as far as possible, to their solidification in newsrooms throughout the country.
A wide range of contributions on the various journalistic specializations was gathered, encompassing five variables: theme, medium, narrative, methodology and audience. The various chapters were written by leading academics and researchers from multiple Portuguese higher education institutions and journalists from a wide range of national media outlets. A wide range of different generations, geographies, studies and professional experiences.
The work has a foreword by Javier Fernández del Moral, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, and an afterword by Ignacio Blanco Alfonso, professor at the CEU San Pablo University.
