This cycle of conferences takes place within the scope of the V Edition of the Advanced Studies Course on “Latin America” and aims to know and understand the historical and geographical specificities of the region, the processes of American and regional integration, the points of conflict between states, and international relations in Latin America, with emphasis on Latin America – USA, Latin America – European Union, Latin America – China, Latin America – Africa, and Latin America – Portugal.
The cycle includes 14 lectures (face-to-face, online and hybrid) by specialists, national and foreign, between March and May 2023, covering a range of subjects, some of which are included in those that are the main lines of investigation of the Cátedra de Estudos Ibero- Americans (https://observare.autonoma.pt/catedra-estudos-americanos/), which are Democracy and the Rule of Law, Latin America – Africa – European Union, Regional Integration, Trafficking and Migration.
