CONGRESS | EUROPE AND ASIA MEET: BEYOND THE BORDERS OF POSSIBILITIES

23 Jun 2025 - 09:00

Auditorium 1

Since its establishment in 1994, the Korean Society for Contemporary European Studies (KSCES) has contributed to the advancement of Korean society through interdisciplinary research on various aspects of Europe. KSCES has also served as a vital bridge connecting Korea to Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world through dynamic academic and cultural exchanges at both the national and international levels.

In the current global landscape, Europe and other major nations are exposed to numerous variables, which are causing dynamic changes in the international community. These developments have significant implications for Korea's external relations.

Europe, as a group of individual nations and as a regional entity encompassing the European Union (EU), has engaged in extensive exchanges with Korea, while playing a key role in international affairs. Europe's diverse cultures and historical backgrounds continue to influence the global community and Korea. Furthermore, Europe's forward-looking initiatives present valuable opportunities for multidimensional cooperation, reinforcing its role as a key partner for Korea.

Taking this dynamic into account, the Korean Society for Contemporary European Studies will organize an international conference in collaboration with academic institutions and national and international embassies. The conference will take place on June 23, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal, and on the day June 26, 2025, in Madrid, Spain.

The theme of this year's congress is “Europe and Asia Meet: Beyond Borders and Possibilities”.
