Translator, journalist and university professor, Luís Lima has a degree and a master's degree in communication sciences, with a specialization in contemporary culture and a doctorate in aesthetics, from the philosophy department of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, - in a research carried out under a co-tutorship regime. with the literature department at the University of Paris 4 Sorbonne.

This investigation of more than five years led him to the creation of the concept «ontography» and the production of an ontographic writing laboratory. Luís Lima has translated poetry and essays in the field of cinema, philosophy and art, with names such as JacquesRancière, Pierre Klossowski or François Truffaut standing out.

Since 2011, he has been a guest professor at the Masters in Animation Illustration at the Escola Superior de Design do Politécnico do Cávado and Ave, in the subjects of Image Theories and Creative Writing. As a researcher, he was coordinating member of the Image and Thinking Cycle, of the Communication and Language Studies Center in partnership with the Berardo Museum Collection and the Portuguese Cinematheque.

He is the author of a book on the aesthetics of individuation and the fading of identity (Estética da Ecceidade, MinervaCoimbra, 2008), has published several articles on the idea of citation, originality/copying and reuse in contemporary literature and philosophy.

He also published a volume of poetry in 2002 and is organizing and translating an anthology by the Franco-Romanian poet Ghérasim Luca.

He has been a freelance journalist for over 15 years and has collaborated with Notícias Magazine, Volta ao Mundo or National Geographic.
