The following study is centered on the intervention of the Family Project® of the Family Support and Parental Counseling Center of Almada-Seixal of the Life Defense Movement, in the area of Family Preservation of children and young people at risk, with active Promotion and Protection processes in Family and Minors Court, in the Multidisciplinary Court Advisory Teams and in the Commission for Children and Young People at Risk in the municipalities of Almada and Seixal, district of Setúbal, Portugal. The primary objective of the study will be to evaluate the effectiveness of the Projecto Família® intervention using instruments from the NCFAS G+R and SOFTA–s scales during the intervention in the home environment in the indicators of Family Preservation, Therapeutic Alliance and the well-being of children and young people. Having the sociodemographic knowledge of the families highlighted, as well as the knowledge of risk or danger factors, the study will allow to deepen the knowledge about the contexts of chronicity and special difficulty, explaining the reason for non-adherence to support services. It is hoped that this study will also allow us to create questions for longitudinal studies on the Therapeutic Alliance process, especially on the therapist's adherence to the therapeutic process in Family Preservation home interventions.

Nuno Ja Pimentel is a psychologist, master in health psychology and family therapist.
He is a professor at the Jean Piaget Institute and a PhD student in Social and Behavioral Sciences at A Coruña University.
He has worked in the area of family intervention with children and young people at risk in CAFAP where he is coordinator, as well as in a private clinic.
