March 14 – 22
Intercultural Week is an opportunity for students of all nationalities present at both institutions to make each other aware of the cultural heritage of their countries, through jointly developed initiatives that include workshops, art exhibitions, cultural presentations, gastronomy , music and more.
This activity is part of the Ambition Project to combat dropout and promote academic success and is an initiative of the respective Pedagogical Innovation Team, organized in collaboration with GIRU – UAL's University Inclusion and Resilience Office and UAL student associations and ESE João de Deus with the aim of promoting integration and a sense of belonging among students, valuing their cultural diversity. The program of activities was designed to encourage intercultural dialogue and create opportunities for students to get to know each other better and feel valued and respected, thus building a more inclusive, tolerant and globally aware community at both institutions.
Interculturality week is also an opportunity for university students to prepare for a globalized, multicultural and highly competitive job market, in which intercultural communicative skills and collaborative work, based on understanding and valuing differences, will be increasingly appreciated and wanted.
