CONFERENCE: TRANSMEDIA STORYTELLING AND IMMERSIVE FORMATS IN ENTERTAINMENT AND JOURNALISM | NOVEMBER 26 | 11 am | ROOM 56 AND ONLINE

26 Nov 2021 - 11:00 am

If old customers were passive, new customers are active.” (Jenkins, 2008). This is the great change observed in the behavior of the public and audiences and which, to a large extent, marks the change in paradigms. Today, the media and their messages have public intervention in their construction, through appropriation and distribution (Cardoso, 2014). “Transmedia Storytelling” is H. Jenkins' conceptual proposal for the new way of telling stories and their respective narratives in contemporary societies. These new formats and forms of distribution are currently present both in the journalism and information industry, as well as in entertainment and fiction. New genres emerged, new approaches and new media. This conference brings together two important references that will support the reflection on the most recent changes in the field of media, namely on formats and on consumption: Nuno Bernardo, General Director of the production company beActive, and Dora Santos Silva, Professor at Universidade Nova – FCSH .
