The conference will focus on dyslexia, a well-known reading and writing disorder. We will address its origin and symptoms. We will talk about forms of intervention and the negative consequences in all spheres of life for a person with dyslexia.

Speaker

Dr Edlia Simões
PhD in Educational Psychology from ISPA-Instituto Universitário. She has been working as a psychologist since 2004, having developed her clinical and educational practice at the Psychology and Guidance Service of a school in Lisbon. Along with his practice, he has always continued his research interests, which relate to the area of acquisition and reading disorders, as well as psychological assessment. Professor Edlia Simões developed and validated several instruments for use in psychological research and practice. She was the principal investigator of two research projects related to the development and validation of an instrument to assess the second language acquisition of Chinese-Portuguese bilinguals. Currently, Dr. Edlia Simoes is also a professor at the University of Saint Joseph, in Macau, teaching courses in Psychology programs at the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels.
