GENDER INEQUALITIES IN MENTAL HEALTH

16 Dec 2021 - 18:30

online

Gender is an important determinant of health, with marked inequalities between men and women. These inequalities are, however, paradoxical. Although men die earlier, women have a greater burden of disease and tend to report worse health than men. This paradox is mirrored in mental health, with similar trends regarding the prevalence of depression and suicide.
