In this conference we will start by briefly addressing the topic of Postpartum Depression, including its characterization, prevalence and impact on the family system. In a second part, we will present the Be a Mom program, a program that was developed with the aim of promoting maternal mental health and preventing postpartum depression. The different stages of development of the program will be described, as well as its structure, functioning and content. In the last part, some results of the pilot study of the program will be presented.

Speaker: Ana Fonseca
Ana Fonseca is a Clinical Psychologist and PhD Researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Coimbra and an integrated member of the Research Center in Neuropsychology and Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention at the University of Coimbra. In recent years, she has focused her research in the area of perinatal mental health, being principal investigator of the project Be a Mom Trial (funded by FCT and CENTRO2020) and leader of the workgroup “Prevention and treatment strategies in Peripartum Depression” by COST Action RISEUP-PPD. He is also a member of other research projects and has disseminated his research in several scientific articles, as well as in several national and international congresses. He was a member of the Psychology and eHealth working group of the Portuguese Psychologists Association.
