CAT – Casa Rainha Santa Isabel is a social facility that aims to accommodate children of both genders, aged between 0 and 18 years old on an urgent and temporary basis (in specific cases there may be an extension of age ranges).
Minors are placed in the CAT under the Reception Measure, one of the Child Promotion and Protection measures (Law No. 147/99 of 1 September), when they are in conditions that are adverse to their harmonious development. This measure is determined by the Child and Young Person at Risk Protection Commissions or by the Family and Juvenile Courts.
Our intervention seeks to integrate 13 children into a welcoming and family environment, promoting their rights and guarantees, providing them with access to community health, education, leisure, cultural and sports services and support for their respective families.
