At the opening of the Chair, the book I INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS OF LUSO-BRAZILIAN HISTORY AND CULTURE will be presented.
The work will be presented by the coordinators of the book Roberta Stumpf and Aline Gallasch-Hall de Beuvink.

Considered by José Honório Rodrigues as “the most vivid description” of Brazil at the beginning of the 17th century, the Diálogo das Grandezas do Brasil, attributed to Ambrósio Fernandes Brandão, is one of the most important documents for understanding Portuguese America in those crucial years, during the reign of Felipe III of Spain, II of Portugal. In the lecture, professor Santos, from the University of Salamanca, will talk about the importance of the work, its characteristics and the main findings resulting from the research carried out by him for the publication of the first edition in Spanish.
