This volume brings together texts by master's and doctoral students from several universities based on a partnership established between research centers at the Autonomous University of Lisbon, the University of Évora and the Fluminense Federal University. The title Resistances and [Un]Successes in the Iberian Empires. 16th-19th Centuries highlights the central historiographical themes and problems of two international research projects – Resistance and Failure – which constitute research topics of fundamental importance for understanding societies from the Modern Era to the present day.
