PSYCHOLOGY CONFERENCE CYCLE | CHILD PSYCHOTHERAPY – EXCERPTS FROM A PSYCHOTHERAPIST’S PATH

19 Dec 2024 - 18:30

Auditorium 1

Symbolic activity allows children to update various dimensions of development, such as cognitive, social, emotional and language. Through their imagination, children represent various roles and respective contexts, allowing them to acquire a better understanding of reality, particularly conflicts and frustrations. In a psychotherapeutic context, it is essential that the psychotherapist tries to understand the child's world in a holistic way, expressed through symbolic play, and that a quality of relationship is established that allows an expected change to occur.
