INAUGURAL LESSON | MASTER’S DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

18 Out 2022 - 19:30

Auditorium 1

Glocalization in International Relations: How all foreign policy must begin at the local. Recent polarization in geopolitics has very local roots, reflecting systemic misreadings of each other, but also fundamental growing inequality and injustices at the human and planetary levels. Much of this relates to flaws in meta-thinking (worldviews) and local and national institutional inabilities to adapt to rapidly systemic changes at local, regional and global levels.  The lecture will use the concepts of OneEarthBalanceSheet and Smart Omni Village to show how complex adaptive system theories can be used to effect climate action and re-thinking of international relations theory.
