Assistant Researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCSH). She won the 2017 Scientific Employment Stimulus Competition, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), and is currently Principal Investigator of the ETHICHO R&D project (2018-2022) on the biomedicalization of human reproduction, also funded by the FCT. She is a member of the Board of the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA), of which she is an integrated researcher and coordinates Research Group 5 – Health, Population and Welfare. She is also coordinator of the Health Governance and Regulation working group, within the scope of NOVASaúde Health Systems and Policies.

He was postdoc fellow at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), in Paris, under a post-doctoral fellowship from the FCT. For 20 years, she was an advisor at the Mário Soares Foundation, in the Office of the former President of the Republic (1997-2017). She has a degree and a PhD in Sociology from NOVA FCSH, having completed her Masters in Social Sciences at ICS-UL, with whose dissertation she was awarded the Woman Research Award 2001 – Carolina Michaëlis de Vasconcelos. He is currently a member of the board of the Research Network 16 Sociology of Health and Medicine at European Sociological Association. She is Associate Editor of two top international scientific journals (Interface and HSSCOMMS). She is the author of numerous academic publications, national and international. He is currently a member of the Coordinating Council of Sedes – Association for Economic and Social Development.
