Doctor in Art History and Associate in History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

Full Professor and Director of the Department of History, Arts and Humanities at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL).

Member of the Geography Society and Corresponding Scholar of the National Academy of Fine Arts.

He has published several works in the areas of History of Art, Urbanism, Heritage, Olisiponense Studies, History of the Book and History of Colonial Brazil.
