The new Bachelor’s degree in “Security Studies” fills a gap in the national educational offer, providing a broad-based program that prepares students not only for professional careers in the various dimensions of the security market, but also enables them to continue their scientific and pedagogical training in one of the sectoral areas of security in future, more specialized study cycles.

This program approaches Security Studies from a holistic and comprehensive perspective, with an issue-oriented and interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach issue oriented e de formação interdisciplinar e transdisciplinar: safety e security, domestic and international security, protection and emergency response, public and private security, military and non-military, as well as emerging dimensions such as cybersecurity, health, and environmental security.

The faculty is of outstanding quality, highly qualified and specialized in the various fields and dimensions of security, combining academic expertise with professional experience in political leadership and technical management roles across different security sectors.

The program benefits from the collaboration of an extensive and diverse network of national and international partners, ranging from research centers to professional associations, from companies to institutions such as the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Homeland Security (ISCPSI) of the Public Security Police (PSP), the Military University Institute and the National Republican Guard (GNR), the Nova Medical School, and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL).

The curriculum is structured on a logic that progresses from the general to the specific and from theory to practice.The pedagogical model is student-centered, providing knowledge and skills to perform a wide range of professions in the public and private security sectors, as well as to work in international and non governmental organizations.
